Curtis Falls - Joalah Section
Curtis Falls track is a moderate grade with steep stairs down to the waterfall. This is a 1.5 km return track. If you wish to continue from the falls, you can follow the Joalah circuit. This is approximately 4.2 km return, from the start of the Curtis Falls track. The track starts from Eagle Heights Road, just before Curtis Falls Lolly Shop and Tamborine Mountain Teapots at the Curtis Falls ‘T’ intersection. There is a second entrance with more parking off Dapsang Drive, off Eagle Heights road in Eagle Heights.
Cedar Creek Falls Section
Cedar Creek Falls Lookout
circuit is approximately 500m return and is an easy grade. If you wish
to walk down to the Rock Pools, it is 900m return. The entrance to this
walk is via Cedar Creek Road which is off Tamborine Mountain Road next
to Thunderbird Park.
Palm Grove Section
The Palm Grove circuit is an
easy grade an approximately 2.6 km. However, if you wish to walk the
Jenyns circuit at Palm Grove, this is a moderate grade and approximately
4.5 km return. Parking is available at the end of Palm Grove Road off
Eagle Heights Road, or in the cul-de-sac on Curtis Falls Road in North
Tamborine.
The Knoll Section
The Sandy Creek circuit at
the Knoll is 2.6 km return at an easy grade. There is also a branch
track to Cameron Falls. Entrance to this is on Knoll Road which is at
the end of Main street in North Tamborine.
Macdonald Rainforest Section
The Macdonald circuit is an
easy grade and approximately 1.4 km return. The entrance is on
Wongawallen Road, opposite the Heritage Centre in Eagle Heights.
Witches Falls Section
The Witches Falls circuit is 3.1 km, moderate grade. The entrance is on Main Western Road, opposite Hartley Road in North Tamborine. There is also a track that runs between Witches Chase road off Beacon Road and Main Western Road in North Tamborine. This is the Witches Chase Track and is 2.7 km return, also a moderate grade.
Lookouts to the West
‘Rotary Lookout’ and the famous Hang Gliders launching site are both situated on Main Western Road.
Eagle Heights Mountain Resort Lookout
Eagle Heights Mountain
Resort has a beer garden in which you can relax, have a drink and enjoy
the 180° views looking towards the Gold
Coast. They are situated on Tamborine-Oxenford Road.
St Bernards Hotel Lookout
St Bernards Hotel has
stunning views that look over the Guanaba Gorge. You can even see the
Gold Coast Skyline from their patio. Wonder around their beautiful
gardens, and stop for a meal or a cool drink while taking in the view.
St Bernards Hotel is situated on Alpine Terrace in Mount Tamborine.
